The school has an explicit and aspirational vision which permeates and drives forward its Christian and inclusive service to its pupils and their families. As one pupil said, “it doesn’t matter what race or religion you are, all are welcome at Harper Bell”. At its heart the vision and associated values celebrate a biblical understanding of the value of the individual as a gift from, and created by, God.

ATTENDANCE

Parents are responsible for:
-
Ensuring that their children are on time for morning registration, 8.30am - 8.50am.
-
Ensuring their child is in school everyday where possible.
-
Informing the school before 9.00am on their first day of absence and every day thereafter.
-
Informing the school of any changes to their contact details.
-
Collecting their children on time (Monday to Thursday 3:30pm and Friday 1:00pm).
-
Not taking holidays during term time.
As parents and carers, you are legally responsible for making sure your child attends school regularly. Missing school causes severe disruption to a child’s education, and affects their performance now and therefore, their chances later in life. Please see our up to date guidance and policy below for further information and if you have any concerns please speak to someone in our school office.

Every Minute Counts!
Frequent absence can add up to a considerable amount of lost learning and can seriously disadvantage your child in adult life.
-
5 minutes late every day means around 3 ½ days of education are missed
-
a score of 90% in a test would be a good result but 90% attendance means that a child will have missed around 100 lessons over a school year.
